It’s Time to Intentionally Build Your Legacy

Building a legacy sounds like hard work.  Until you realize you are already in the process of building your legacy whether it is intentional or not.

“Remember, no more effort is required to aim high in life, to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty,” as Napoleon Hill shared in Think & Grow Rich!

How does one go about creating a legacy they can be proud of?  It’s simple, and doesn’t take any more time than any other business or life goals.  Here are 3 tips for building your legacy with intention:

  1. Decide What You Stand For. Consider your passions, what drives you, the people in your life that you care most about.  What actions do you want to be known for?  Decide how you would like others to describe you, then work to become that person (if you haven’t already). Write down these ideas about your legacy.
  2. Do It to Become It. Once you’ve decided the core elements of your legacy, plan in ways to make it happen. What activities can you remove that do NOT align with your desired legacy?  Got a bad habit you want to get rid of? Get motivated and do it in the next 90 days!  What activities can you add in to move you closer to your legacy?  Connect a new good habit to an existing routine, such as brushing your teeth, eating lunch, or driving home, etc…
  3. Start Now.  Procrastination is sure-fire way to accidentally create an unintended legacy.  Don’t wait until the plan is perfect; start today and give yourself permission to change things as needed.  The more you strive to appreciate what you already have, coupled with intentionally becoming the person you want to be, the more you will enjoy the process and the faster you will realize results.
